Well, bad teachers could be fired by a school system in that case. If the school system were capable of performing such a qualitative 360 evaluation. and if they were willing to evaluate teacher performance on that, and if they actually had incentives to do it right, and if the teacher's union didn't violently oppose the concept, and if the teachers had some other possible employer in the same state.... if we had all that then i don't see why it wouldn't work. oh. all that and a pony. make that a Read More...
@ Steve Andrews: Nope BUT: When a fellow leaves the hotel (scene of the crime) precipitously When he forgets his phone When a person makes a contemporaneous report identity theft of a crime When he does not report an incident in his favor to the Police (theft or blackmail... as alleged by shuan chen...) When people are coming out of the woodwork to report similar incidents of which he is the potential aggressor When the Police is the NYPD When there is physical evidence (DNA and marks) I call that Read More...
Simple. Due to P. Obama and Democrats continuous diatribes against corporate America (corp jet talk, not paying enough tax) and successful Americans (not paying enough tax), those engines of growth (big business growth strategies and wealthy Ameircans) have shut down. They will not emerge and inject working capital into our economy until new leadership takes the helm in the WH and this new leadeship is pro-business, anti-tax and anti big government. until then the economy will continue to stagnate Read More...
We need to distchanges in my lifeguish between life that is able to reproduce, and, further, life that is able to reason. Apparently bacteria have been left behind on the moon from prior forays, certainly answering the first issue. Reasoning life on Mars is another matter entirely, and here the outlook appears doubtful. However, anyone who looks at Hubble photographs, given the perspective of our own place in the universe, can not fail to believe in the existence of other life able to reason beyond Read More...
Better for whom? I grew up as a gen-xer, had terrible parents who got divorced parents. They still haven't grown up and can't face up to their decisions so long ago - they still both blame it on each other & any bad trait I or my siblings have came from the other one. Pathetic and childish. I know lots of people my age who grew up in a similar situation. It's refreshing and cathartic to read the author condemning divorce for what it usually is - a destructive, selfish cop-out. Kids are pretty helpless Read More...
Hate to bust your bubble but baseball develops both individualism and team leader skills work. At bat is the time for individual achievement and in the field is why you work as a team. So baseball is also good for child development. So I guess you are saying that in soccer the individualism is when you have the ball right? (not much individual skills being worked on if this is the case) Not only that but if you think there is individualism in soccer, then football, hockey, baseball, lacrosse and Read More...
Wow, I find this result to be more interesting than the article's! Only 58% of the dysfunctional teams with 30+ wins at the 50 game mark made the playoffs! So it is no slamdunk to make the playoffs at the 50 game mark even when you have 30+ wins. However, under 20 wins, you can pretty much kiss it goodbye. And 25-29 win teams are four times more likely to make the playoffs than teams with 20-24, yet still very unlikely that the 25-29 win teams make the playoffs, only 24%. So basically no team can Read More...
65, Please. And no double dipping. One government pension, if you retire from one government job and then take another government job, your pension ceases immediately. When you retire from the second government job you get a blended pension, not two. When Ireland was faced with financial problems and they best place to retireok the bull by the horns and cut all government employees wages and pensions by 5, 10, 15% depending on their current wage base. They have come a long way in fixing their financial Read More...
What the Religious Right has to understand is that if they continue to focus on social issues first and economic issues second, the predominately Christian United States of America and all its force and influence is going to be bankrupt. And have no remaing force or influence. If you want to be influential in the world, you simply cannot spend like we have been spending. And forget about taxes - you give the Dems too many class warfare weapons when you hold the line on those. Let them do whatever Read More...
Is this same technique going to be use in simple hiring? when compainies are trying to can't find a job the best and the brightest. Well to some people who have a proven track record and have shown that they can do the job will not have to jump through hoops to get hired. Using educational psychologist who charge huge sums of money for one day is non-sense, when companies are trying to find ways to cut costs and spending $30,000 to find the right candidate I think this is a waste of the stock holders Read More...
