There seem to be a lot of liberal arts grads posting and trying to suggest that this is evidence of the poor quality of state schools. I have a different perspective that might shed some light--I graduated with bachelors degrees from both an elite liberal arts school and a public school on this list.
I am blown away by how much better my education was from the state school; that education was about critical thinking, useful leadership skills list, and functioning in the real world. The liberal arts Read More...
Something is rotten in The Big Apple. I would like to see an article/timeline that shows who DSK's enemies are in Banking and government, as well as a really thorough investigation of every State and Federal (including Treasury Cops) change agent involved with this case as well as scrutiny of their financial records for the last decade. There must be a long list of them, it goes with his job, and he did just sell the 2nd largest supply of gold in the world. Were the cops they in the same unit that Read More...
These mentally ill people need emetophobia treatment. Their friends, family, and school teachers know they need treatment. The liberals in this nation have made it impossible to force insane people into treatment, even if family members repeatedly ask for them to get treatment or they are identified as a threat by a college professor. That is the problem and it is caused by the liberals. We could focus on identifying and defining the problem and then passing laws to try to stop this from happening Read More...
Yes. Yes. Yes. Thank you. I just heard abc sports commentary stating Uruguay played by the rules. This is allowed, although punishable. NO cheating. I'm ashamed that a respected paper such as the WSJ would allow a reporter to make such a discriminatory comment about the size of the country as if that mattered. Uruguay won the world cup twice, and they were definitetly better than Ghana. Suarez sacrificed himself for the good of the team. VAMOS URUGUAY!!!!!! Yeah sometimes the rules suck, like the Read More...
Sometimes the genius is in the mundane. We built the capability (as I am sure many others did as well) how to keep a guy interested broadcast text messages to a managed list of subscribers years before twitter. It was a small part of our large robust b2b framework. Thought never crossed our minds that a bunch normal people would be interested walking around sending messages about mundane everyday things they were doing or that anyone would be interested in receiving them at the other end. My Billion Read More...
The third lesson? Life imitates art? Not quite. Life imitates Reality TV. And this is the sad part. Not to dump on the would be femme fatal in this case, who, after all, was literally a Hollywood star and a contestant in a Reality TV show, she anticipated a settlement and reportedly has one. Not having a single fact in the matter, I infer that this is the governance paradigm in reality TV. Write a layoff letter; get even more publicity (and maybe a settlement or at least another TV show); no harm Read More...
The county or city should have bought the Reds and the Bengals from their owners and continued to play in Riverfront stadium (which was not even paid for yet). It would have been far cheaper at the time, and especially in the long run.
The Green Bay Packers are city owned, and this eliminates the conflict between team owners who can try to hold up a city/county for a new stadium and the people who pay for it.
OF course the best solution would be for the private owners to pay for private stadiums, Read More...
Come one on one meetings. Do you think those young hetersoxual guys do not talk about their sexual encounters ? What ? Do you think they are sensible and behave like people do in corporate board meetings and diplomatic meetings ? They talk about the fights they got in, how many rock albums their collection contains, which girls they got drunk and had sex with, which women were easier to seduce, and which had the bigger mammaries. I doubt that they discuss Kant, relativity, or enzyme kinetics. Many Read More...
The public teacher unions are hopefully the last nail in the coffin of the public school system. It should disappear, because from top to bottom, it is a system that was consciously designed to fail our children from the get-go. When parents take responsibility for providing for their children's education, rather than delegating the job to a gaggle of EdD's whose chief expertise is bureaucracy, children will start getting something approximating a fair shake.

Emotional issues around the agreements a company makes with employees (union, non-union, management, or executive business coaching) should have second priority to other primary concerns.
#1. Are their terms of service, and total cost acceptable to meet your needs?
#2. Does this business have a solid financial standing?
#3. Does this business have a good reputation? Does it keep both it's specific, and it's implied 'Word'?
#4. Will it be able to continue the first three points, or Read More...
